We are thrilled that our main sponsor for 2017 is Bestparks and we would like to thank Glenn Jones (above centre) and his team for their continued support. A volunteer-run event like ours, where the majority of the proceeds are given away to charities and good causes, relies on the help and goodwill of local people and businesses and we are really pleased to be able to work with Bestparks again. Not only are they our overall event sponsor, but they are also one of the businesses sponsoring our Friday night concert, the proceeds of which are going towards a fund for a new children’s playground in the village. They have also donated a fantastic prize to our Rat Pack Grand Auction: a 3-night off-peak stay at the stunning Keepers Holiday Cottage at Pearl Lake Country Park.
The 5-star award winning Pearl Lake Country Park is situated right on the edge of Shobdon village, a luxury site set around a breath-taking 15 acre glacial lake.
It’s a must for festival visitors who are thinking about exploring the idea of holiday home ownership, there’s even a shuttle bus service from the Bestparks stand at the Festival showground to this nearby attraction. You can also visit their Arrow Bank Park while you’re in the area, which is a small select site in the nearby historical black and white village of Eardisland approx 5 minutes away. Or, there’s Rockbridge Park, just down the road at Presteigne, which, as well as having luxury caravan holiday homes offers residential park homes and lodges.
Owners of this trio, Glenn and Hannah Jones, say what sets them apart from their competitors is that they can usually match most holiday home owners needs.
Glenn said: “Some people want more facilities for families, while others want a smaller, more intimate country retreat feel. Within these three parks close to Shobdon we are able to deliver on all counts! As well as a nine hole golf course, top class bowling green, 20 acres of woodland to wander in, two rivers to fish, we have recently introduced a children’s zip wire, a BMX track and a new wildlife station.”
